Designed around Nukeproof’s legendary Mega platform, the Nukeproof Megawatt 297 Factory Electric Bike is a long travel enduro bike with a motor. After winning multiple accolades and podiuming at the E-Enduro World Series, the Megawatt receives several key updates.PLEASE NOTE: Due to Nukeproof (HOTLINES EUROPE LTD)being in administration, the frame and parts will have a 2 year warranty covered by Leisure Lakes Bikes. The extended 5 year warranty with Nukeproof is no longer available directly from Nukeproof.FRAME UPGRADES:The Megawatt frame won over riders with a blend of dialled geometry and suspension kinematics. As an evolution of the Megawatt frame, Nukeproof has rerouted the brake, gear, and dropper cables to improve routine maintenance of the frame. All internal cables now run into and through the downtube in dedicated mounting points. These can be easily accessed when removing the battery.ALL NEW SHIMANO STEPS EP801 DRIVE SYSTEM:The heart of the Megawatt is the all-new Shimano STEPS EP801 drive system. The EP801 system is a highly controllable, high-performance power unit with a maximum torque of 85Nm. The result is a quiet motor that offers a natural ride feel with smooth power delivery. The EP801 motor also has improved heat management to allow riders to use maximum power for longer..ALL NEW SPECIFICATIONS:The RS, Factory and Elite receive the latest SRAM T-Type AXS 12-speed group set. All AXS models feature a wide 11-52t cassette, enabling the Megawatt to climb as well as it descends. SRAM T-Type AXS is designed to allow shifting under load, ensuring a smooth shift and longer chain life for riders. All specifications come with the new AXS POD Ultimate shifter which is ergonomically designed for comfort and performance.MODERN ENDURO INSPIRED RACE GEOMETRY:Lower, longer, steeper and slacker. The Megawatt’s geometry is designed around Nukeproof’s saddle offset principle which optimises seated weight distribution for each frame size. This results in steeper seat angles across the board but especially on larger sizes, producing longer reach figures to ensure a comfortable cockpit on each size. To further aid the perfect fit we have also used shorter seat tubes which are designed to maximise seat post insertion depths. Finally, all Megawatt bikes are designed to use short offset forks to further improve both climbing and descending capabilities.SIZING AND WHEEL STANDARD:Whilst humans may not have changed size much in recent years, the bikes they choose to ride most certainly have. To ensure a perfectly dialled fit we now offer the 297 bikes in S, M, L, XL and XXL.A 29” wheel up front maximises grip and rolling efficiency whilst the 27.5” wheel out back allows the bike to run shorter chainstays, ensuring nimble handling and maximising manoeuvrability. The rear chainstays also benefit from a 3D-moulded chain guard to keep the frame protected and running quiet.PROGRESSIVE, SUPPLE AND SUPPORTIVE 4-BAR HORST SUSPENSION PLATFORMThe Megawatt uses a 4-bar Horst linkage designed to be super supple over small bumps while remaining progressive through the mid-stoke for support when pedalling, cornering, and pumping. There’s also increased end-stroke leverage to allow more tuning options with volume spacers. The kinematic is designed to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears, but this reduces as you drop down the cassette. The result is a bike that is more confidence inspiring everywhere on the hill. It behaves itself on the climbs yet can still be thrashed through the roughest and most technical terrain on the way back down. The Megawatt also has a wide SAG range (30%-35%) to allow the rider to tune the characteristics of the bike to their preferences.DURABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT ALLOY FRAME WITH INTERNAL BATTERY:The Megawatt was designed from the outset to optimise the performance of the Shimano EP801 Motor and battery. Crafted from hydroformed 6061 aluminium, the Megawatt shares characteristics and tube shapes with its Mega sibling but features several notable differences. A one-piece cast aluminium bottom bracket shell was to house the Shimano STEPS EP801 motor. The downtube has been optimised for maximise strength and rigidity, whilst providing easy access to remove the internal battery for charging or transportation. The Megawatt 297 RS/ Factory and Elite use the all-new Shimano 630Wh battery. This can be exchanged for the EP801’s smaller 504Wh battery by using the Megawatt’s adjustable mount system (stock on all specifications). The Comp model comes fitted with the 504Wh battery. All bikes include a Shimano battery charger and adaptor to allow both on bike and off the bike charging using either the Euro or UK charging cables included.Nukeproof Megawatt 297 Factory Electric Bike HighlightsFRAME: Nukeproof Megawatt 297 Alloy, 170mm Travel, custom triple butted hydro-formed tube set, internal Battery, Internal cable routing through downtube, Enduro Bearings,
